Flaws: very slightly bumped corners, mild rubbing to extremities. NO writing/highlighting/underlining not ex-lib. Condition is VG+: very clean, binding straight & strong, pages creamy white with a whisper of tanning to edges no foxing or stains internally, but a spot or two to outside page edges. This edition has the original brown-colored cloth over boards (not the later color variants), with a brilliantly colored paper pastedown to front cover & black lettering & design to spine (fancy publisher script, not plain). Neill throughout the book's 279 pages, with decorative endpapers by same. published in 1920, t& the last of the original Oz titles written by Baum, his is a later (post-1935) Reilly & Lee reprint, with NO color plates, but lavishly illustrated in pen-and-ink by John R. A Very nice copty of a Children's Classic. Content is clean and sound with no coloring or marks. There is a dark brown spot the size of a quarter on the bottom of the frontise illustrations (does not effect the illustrations) title page and copyright page. Ink name of previous owner on 'This book belongs to" page. Front hinge is cracked and has been taped. Binding is worn at to and bottom of spine, corners and back cover show minimal soil. Spine has black title author illustration of bird and publisher.
